Veterans Day
Veterans Day is coming up on November 11th and schools are required to honor veterans in some way on this holiday. To help you out with that I have created a website with lots of information and links for your students to explore. Veterans Day and Memorial Day are two holidays that third graders need to know (SOL 3.11c), and sometimes students confuse the two. So one of the things I have tried to do on the website is explain the difference between them. Some of the links I share have games, activity booklets to download, as well as videos about real life veterans. Take some time to look at the websites in the upcoming days so that you can plan a lesson for next Tuesday to honor the brave men and women who protect our country’s freedoms.
