Do you recognize this animal? Can you name its habitat? Body covering? Method of movement? Well Mrs. Carlsen’s students can! These 1st graders did an excellent job completing their animal database. They provided all sorts of information about a variety of animals — wow these students are smart!
Ms. Gabrual’s 1st graders worked very hard on a spooky, scary scene. After coloring the background students had to count the correct amount of each scary sticker to bring on to their picture. Students topped it off by taking their picture and adding it to their scene.
Students in Ms. Aveson’s and Mrs. Rilee’s classrooms got an introduction to Pixie today. There was so much creativity and enthusiasm for the Halloween themed counting activity, students also personalized their work with a photograph of themselves.
Teachers at Mehfoud were introduced to the Elementary Electronic Report Card system. The ease of use definitely grabbed attention and energized teachers about the very important task of writing report cards.
First grade students at Mehfoud Elementary got to ‘show what they know’ by working on an animal database. They did a great job and will continue to work on completing all of the database records.
Kindergarten, 1st, & 2nd grade teachers at Dumbarton were excited to learn about Pixie, the new multimedia program available to early elementary students. Teachers were surprised about the ease of use the program offers to students.

Students in Ms. Nassetta’s 1st grade classroom worked diligently to complete an animal database. They were able to identify 12 animals’ habitats, body coverings, methods of movement, and whether or not they were wild or tame. Good job!
Mrs. Givens’ class learned how to use Comic Life today. Students picked their favorite season, inserted photographs to illustrate it, and commented on each photograph. Making a comic strip about science curriculum is just one way to promote non-fiction writing for first grade students.

Dumbarton Elementary teachers worked very diligently to set up their accounts and begin searching for appropriate Quia activities for their students.
