December Resources
Looking for some fun December activities? Don’t forget to review any sites prior to making them available to students.
Warning!!!!!
Even with the new hard drives, it is still crucial that you back up on a regular basis! How often? Grades should be backed up on a daily basis. Things you cannot live without should be backed up as often as you change them. Email and documents should be backed up on a weekly basis to be certain you don’t loose anything. Need to know how?
Reading Resources
Have you heard of Literactive? It is a wonderful resource for beginning readers! Registration is free and it will load on multiple computers with the same password (which Firefox will remember for you). Some of the activities on this abandoned site don’t work, but a great many work and it’s worth registering. Check it out– that’s what members of the Special Education PLC at Echo Lake Elementary are doing.

Mehfoud’s New Arrival
That Mrs. Pollard! So clever, always finding new and inventive ways to get students interested in reading.
4th Grade Genre Rotations
Mrs. Bennett has been working very hard to make going to the library at Pemberton a technology rich experience. The latest activity she has come up with is the study of genres for Pemberton 4th grade students. In this rotation experience, 4th grade students will first learn about the various genres they can access in the library. Students will then be exposed to a variety of different reading passages not only in print, but also in podcast form! It will be up to students to determine in which genre category each podcast fits. Just let me know if you are interested in trying this lesson, Mrs. Bennett is always happy to share and collaborate.
Way to go Mrs. Bennett, thanks for being so 21!
