Today Mrs. Quesenberry’s, Mrs. Turner’s, Ms. Cioffi’s, and Ms. Donagy’s third grade classes did Pixie lessons on simple machines. Students had to label the pictures, add a definition, and add some pictures of simple machines. They did a wonderful job with all of these tasks. Sandston 2/11/09

Today, I worked with an enrichment group from Ms. Hanks’ first grade class.  The students were retelling a story from their basal in Pixie.  Each student had a part they were drawing and next week, they will record themselves retelling the story to make into a movie.  It should be great!  Does this look like [...]

Baker 2/10/09

All the second grade classes at Baker did a Pixie lesson on the states of matter. Students had to add text boxes and sort the types of matter. Fair Oaks 2/9/09

In Ms. Menon’s third grade class, the students graphed the number of students in each grade.  They worked in Numbers for the first time. Ms. Schemmel’s second grade class also did a lesson in Numbers.  Her students graphed their favorite animals.

Sandston 1/4/09

Today at Sandston, the Mrs. Moore’s and Mrs. Beagle’s kindergarten classes explored magnets. In Pixie, the students had to determine which items a magnet would attract and which items would not be attracted. Then they had to draw their own object that would attract to a magnet. Baker 2/3/09

Today was a tag-team effort in the library.  All hands were on deck!  Mrs. Irving read the book “The Snowy Day” to the kindergarten students.  I led a Pixie technology lesson that related to the story while Mrs. Irving and Ms. Minor assisted the students.  The students did a fabulous job and were very creative.
