KG Money
Click here to take a look at their awesome work!
Kindergarten students in Mrs. Hardiman’s, Miss Lazarchic’s, Mrs. Marone’s, and Mrs. Barradale’s (3.22.10) classes practiced their money skills using Pixie. They also learned how to open a folder full of Pixie slides. Students identified, sorted, and counted various coins to show what they know.

Miss Feaver’s & Miss Aveson’s (3.22.10) students demonstrated their knowledge about matter by making an animated Keynote. You can grab this awesome activity on Virtual Share.
First Grade Animals
First graders at Mehfoud have lots of ways to show what they know about animals. Check out the Pixie covering sort and the Animal database. These kids do a great job!
Senses
Students have fun demonstrating their knowledge of the 5 senses. Using the web cam was very exciting for these kindergarten students.
Tribes
Students in Mrs. Willoughby’s 2nd grade are collaborating to make a study guide for the different tribes they are studying. Click on the link below to see their preliminary work, please be patient while it loads.
Data
What can we do with data? We can graph it! Students in Mrs. Acor’s class collected weather data for a month. We can look at this data when we make a spreadsheet using Numbers. Reviewing data can allow us to explore patterns within the information we have gathered.
ePat Update
During the month of November, I will be working with 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students and their teachers at Dumbarton, Echo Lake, and Pemberton Elementary Schools. In an effort to prepare for HCPS’s online testing, students and teachers will be trained on the ePat program. ePat is a very simple program that introduces students to the online testing environment. Teachers should be prepared to practice at least once a month with their class. This will allow students the opportunity to learn and practice the tools they will have available to them for online SOL testing.
